TVHeight · Illinois, United States
Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated October 19, 2026
Your room is personal. Here is what happens to the photos and information you choose to send to TVHeight.
- Photos are sent to OpenAI to assess your room.
- TVHeight only keeps a saved copy of your photos when you choose Save assessment.
- Saving creates links that allow others to view your photos. Keep the separate deletion link private.
- Saved assessments have no automatic expiry. You can delete them or ask us for help.
1. Who operates this site
TVHeight is an independently operated project based in Illinois, United States. In this policy, “TVHeight,” “we,” and “us” mean the individual operator of tvheight.app. Use our contact form for privacy questions and requests.
2. Information we process
We process the room photos, optional measurements and notes you submit, the model’s assessment, and your adjustments to the room or TV. Images can contain personal details even if they are pictures of a room. Please avoid faces, mail, addresses, documents, screens showing personal information, and anything you are not allowed to share.
Your browser resizes and re-encodes selected photos before upload. The app may read a camera focal-length value to improve the model. We do not need your photo’s location, and the upload flow does not intentionally transmit original filenames or GPS metadata. Personal details visible in the image itself can still be transmitted.
We also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site: IP/network information, browser/device signals, request times, outcomes, and usage counts. Our application usage logs use rotating, hashed network identifiers instead of raw IP addresses and record coarse device and referral-source categories. Our hosting and security providers also process technical information under their own policies. Hashed identifiers should not be treated as a guarantee of anonymity.
3. How we use information
We use this information to generate and display assessments, operate saved links, answer requests, understand site usage and estimated API costs, enforce request limits, prevent abuse, and maintain security. We do not sell your photos, run advertising on the site, or use your photos to train our own models.
When you request an assessment after accepting the Terms, we record the version accepted and the time of the request. For newly saved assessments, we also keep a record of the Terms version and your choice to save and share. We do not treat the publication of a new policy as proof that an earlier user accepted new Terms.
4. Service providers and OpenAI retention
OpenAI receives your submitted photos, measurements and notes to produce an assessment. We request that the response not be stored as a reusable API response, but this is not a promise of zero retention by OpenAI. OpenAI’s standard API abuse-monitoring logs may contain customer content and are generally retained for up to 30 days, with legal and safety exceptions. Its standard API policy does not use API data for model training unless the API customer opts in. See OpenAI’s data controls for its current policy.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts the app and stores saved assessments, private operational records, and contact messages in the United States. Cloudflare provides DNS and Turnstile browser/bot verification. Verification may involve network, device and browser information. See AWS’s privacy notice and Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy policy.
These providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Optional donations are handled on Buy Me a Coffee’s separate website under its policies; TVHeight does not collect payment-card details.
5. Saving, access and sharing
During an ordinary unsaved analysis, photos are processed in memory; TVHeight does not intentionally write those photos to its assessment database or photo storage. Your browser holds the working assessment while the page is open. This does not control OpenAI’s or infrastructure providers’ separate retention.
If you choose Save assessment, we store the submitted photo copies, room/model data, current settings, and assessment. The operator can access saved assessments through a protected admin dashboard for operation, support, moderation and removal.
Anyone with the share link can view the saved assessment and its photos without signing in. The separate private management link permits deletion and must be kept private. Saved pages are not listed in a public gallery and ask search engines not to index them, but links can be forwarded, copied or exposed. These are link-accessible pages, not confidential storage.
6. Retention and deletion
Saved assessments have no automatic expiry and remain until you or the operator delete them. Use your private management link to delete a saved assessment. This removes the photo payload from our live storage and makes both assessment links unavailable. We may keep minimal non-photo metadata, including an ID, deletion marker, and acceptance/security records, to prevent restoration by a delayed retry and manage the service.
We cannot delete copies other people have downloaded, screenshots, search-engine caches, or information retained independently by service providers under their policies.
Application usage and diagnostic logs are retained for 30 days. Build-limit records usually expire after about two days; cooldowns and admin sessions have shorter logical lifetimes. Expired database records can remain briefly while the storage provider completes background deletion.
Contact messages, including any optional name and reply email, are kept for up to 90 days for handling the request unless deleted sooner. They are hidden from the admin inbox at expiry and scheduled for storage deletion, which AWS says may take a few additional days. Information may need to be retained longer where required by law or a legal preservation obligation.
8. Privacy requests and reports
You can use the contact/report form to ask about your information, request access or deletion, report a photo of you or your space, or get help if you lost a private deletion link. Include the assessment’s share link or ID when available. We may need proportionate information to verify authority and locate a record. Do not send passwords, private management tokens, identity documents, or more sensitive information than needed.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of personal information, or complain to a regulator. This policy does not limit rights you have under applicable law. We will assess requests under the laws that apply; submitting a request does not guarantee that every record can be identified or that another person’s information will be disclosed.
9. Children
The room-planning service is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent, guardian, or affected person can use the contact form to report a concern or request removal; reporting a concern does not require using the room planner.
10. Security and policy changes
We use access controls, encryption provided by our hosting services, bot checks, and request limits. No online service can guarantee complete security. We may disclose information where legally required or reasonably necessary to address abuse, security incidents or legal claims.
We will post changes here with a new updated date. Material changes to how existing saved information is used will be highlighted on the site and, where required, presented for additional choice or consent before that new use. Questions can be sent through Contact / Report a photo.
